Privacy Policy

This customer-facing draft explains how Mureza handles personal information. It should be reviewed by a UK solicitor before launch.

1. Who we are

Mureza is a digital marketplace operated by MIREZA LTD, which acts as the controller of personal data described in this Privacy Policy for the purposes of UK GDPR and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.

MIREZA LTD's registered office is 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA, United Kingdom. Company number: 17114409.

General privacy and legal contact: support@mureza.co.uk. Telephone: +44 734 969 2815.

2. Information we collect

  • Account and profile details such as name, email address, phone number, location, profile photo, and preferred routes.
  • Parcel details such as item description, category, value, size, weight, photos, pickup and delivery information, receiver contact details, and customs-related information.
  • Trip and offer details such as route, travel date, available luggage space, price, messages, and delivery timing.
  • Delivery records such as pickup notes, delivery confirmation, photos, incident reports, reviews, and support messages.
  • Payment and refund records needed to operate the marketplace and keep accurate financial records.
  • Technical and usage information such as device, log, security, session, and platform-interaction data used to secure and improve the service.

3. Why we use information

  • To create accounts and let users use Mureza safely.
  • To match senders with travellers and coordinate parcel pickup and delivery.
  • To process payments, refunds, and traveller earnings.
  • To verify users where needed and reduce fraud, unsafe activity, prohibited items, and account misuse.
  • To provide customer support, investigate disputes, and improve Mureza.
  • To meet legal, tax, accounting, consumer protection, customs, payment, and regulatory duties.

4. Lawful bases for processing

  • Performance of a contract or steps at the user's request before entering a contract, including account setup, parcel matching, payment handling, and support linked to a transaction.
  • Legitimate interests, including keeping the marketplace safe, preventing fraud, improving the service, maintaining records, and handling complaints and disputes.
  • Compliance with legal obligations, including tax, accounting, sanctions, customs, consumer protection, law-enforcement, and regulatory requirements.
  • Consent where the law requires it for a specific activity. A user may withdraw consent at any time, but this will not affect processing already carried out lawfully before withdrawal.

5. Sharing information

We share information only where needed to run Mureza, complete a parcel journey, support users, process payments, meet legal duties, or protect the marketplace.

  • Other users involved in the same parcel journey, only where needed for pickup, delivery, communication, or issue resolution.
  • Payment, identity, hosting, storage, email, support, analytics, and security providers that help us operate the service.
  • Professional advisers, insurers, banks, regulators, customs authorities, courts, law enforcement, or payment partners where necessary.

6. Messages, photos, and proof

Mureza may store messages, parcel photos, pickup evidence, delivery evidence, dispute evidence, and support records so we can help complete deliveries and resolve problems fairly.

7. International transfers

Mureza is built for cross-border parcel movement, so information may be handled in more than one country. Where data protection law requires safeguards, we will use appropriate protections.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal data for as long as needed to operate Mureza, complete deliveries, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, manage payments and refunds, meet legal duties, and maintain proper records.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of record, the transaction history, and whether the information is needed for accounting, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, security, or legal compliance.

9. Your rights

Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access your data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, request a copy of your data, withdraw consent, ask us to transfer certain data to another provider, or complain to a data protection authority.

Some records may need to be kept for payment, fraud prevention, legal, tax, safety, dispute, or marketplace integrity reasons.

10. How to exercise your rights

Privacy requests should be sent to support@mureza.co.uk from the email address linked to the account where possible, or with enough information for us to verify identity safely.

Mureza aims to respond to valid privacy requests within one month, subject to any lawful extension permitted for complex requests or multiple requests.

11. Complaint handling and regulatory rights

Privacy complaints may be sent to support@mureza.co.uk with the user's name, contact details, account email, and a short description of the concern. Mureza aims to acknowledge privacy complaints within 5 business days and to provide a substantive response or progress update within 15 business days.

If a user remains dissatisfied, they may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or, where applicable, another competent data protection authority.

12. Security

Mureza uses account protection, controlled access, payment provider safeguards, contact-detail controls, file upload controls, and operational review to protect users and the marketplace.

No online service is completely secure. Users should protect their account details, keep device access secure, and report suspicious activity quickly.

13. Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as Mureza grows or legal requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this website.

Privacy questions can be sent to support@mureza.co.uk or raised by phone on +44 734 969 2815. UK users may also contact the Information Commissioner's Office if they believe their data protection rights have not been respected.
